The day began with a lecture
on Hypertension: the 'silent stalker; the critical
need for prevention, and medical care. The number of participants in the
screening was 30. Young and old alike, attentively, they listened on.
Results of the screening show 23% have high blood pressure. Female
subjects who exhibit high blood pressure run a
greater risk of having hypertension. Seventy eight
percent were unaware of the consequences of their insidious medical
conditions; suggesting that older adults are unaware of their own
hypertension. Thirty six percent were overweight. Ten percent were urged to
seek immediate medical advice. |
